Things You Should Know Before Travel To Thailand

Due to COVID-19, Thailand has imposed several travel restrictions and requirements. All Thai and foreign nationals planning to enter the country must know this

Register a Thailand Pass

You are advised to register 7 days before departure date. Documents required for registration: -

  • Fully paid SHA Extra+ / AQ Hotel Reservation (for day 1 and day 5 for PCR test and airport transfer) could be different hotel
  • Insurance with minimum coverage of USD50,000 (THB1.75 million) medical expenses
  • Vaccination Certificate
  • Passport

Get a Covid-19 test

Negative RT-PCR result is a must 72 hours before departure

Do a 1st RT-PCR test

Do the test on your 1st day arrival in Thailand. If the result is negative, you are allowed to travel anywhere in Thailand

Do a 2nd RT-PCR test

Do the test on your 5th day during your stay in Thailand. If the result is negative, you are allowed to travel anywhere in Thailand

Note:- For Malaysians who are travelling home, you must get a covid test 72 hours before departure. And must go for a 7 days quarantine period at home.

I am in Thailand. Can I buy Covid-19 Travel Insurance?

No. If you are already in Thailand, you are not entitled to buy Covid-19 Travel Insurance. You can only buy Covid-19 Travel Thailand only if you are physically outside of Thailand at the time of policy purchase.

What is the period of insurance that I should buy?

The period of insurance required depends on your intended duration of stay in Thailand. Your insurance policy must be valid for the entire duration of your stay in Thailand. You can choose to purchase a policy of 30, 60, 90, 180, 270, and 365 days. If the exact number of days of coverage that you are looking for is not available, please purchase the next available option. e.g. if you require cover for 15 days, please choose the option of 30 days.

Does Covid-19 Travel Insurance To Thailand cover for COVID-19 only?

No, Covid-19 Travel Thailand also provides coverage for medical expenses from the accident, sickness including COVID-19 which is not a pre-existing condition. The company will cover the cost of treatment incurred based on medical necessity.

What are the recomended hotels and accommodation?

    While staying in Thailand, your hotel and accommodation must follow standard as below: -
